New Java Update and B4A

Java was updated to version 1.7.0 and now B4A is not compiling, I keep getting this error:

Compiling generated Java code.          Error
javac 1.7.0
javac: target release 1.5 conflicts with default source release 1.7

What's the solution, downgrade?

Basic4android was not tested with Java 7. I'm not sure that the Android SDK works with it at all. You can however have multiple versions of Java installed on the same computer. You should configure Basic4android to use Java 6 for now.

@Erel, does B4A now work with Java 7 (or whatever the latest is)?

I'd like to update Java on my computers, but I don't want to break B4A.

This is an old thread, the current version of B4A works with 7 and 8.
