Hi guys,
I'm basically a C# programmer, looking forward to develop for android. I tried java/eclipse but kinda didn't find it very comfortable to use, so right now Basic4android looks very promising to me! :sign0060:

Yet I wanted to ask a few things before I get started - can I use Basic4android to create not only standard applications, but also such things as a softkeyboard? or a security application that runs in the background and transmits the GPS coordinates to a webserver? Or an application that plays streaming video from a webserver, etc. ?

So basically - are there any things that Basic4android can't do comparing to java?

Thanks!

You cannot create a soft keyboard replacement with Basic4android. The other two applications described can be made with Basic4android.

Currently home screen widgets are not supported. I believe that they will be supported in the next version. Most other features are supported.

Developers with some Java knowledge can also create their own libraries and use them with Basic4android.

Thanks for the info! :)
Oh, and one more think - can a Basic4android application act as a server, i.e. receive asynchronous internet connection. For example, an application using which the user would be able to connect to his phone from a PC and download photos or something.
