No way to create a recurring appointment?

If the appointment.isrecurring object is read only then there is no way to add a reoccurring event to the calendar with basic4ppc.

Is this correct? If it is then this is a serious shortcoming. I was trying to make a backup program for the calendar and contacts and this pretty much makes this program useless.

Is this a .NET shortcoming?

Has this been done? I just gave it a try with v6.9 and still no luck.
