NOOP in FTP?

Do you by any chance know how to be able send 'NOOP' to a ftp-server?
I would like to use this command to 'keep-alive'

You can issue a GetEntries call as a method for keeping the connection alive.

I thought there might be any special command for sending 'NOOP'.
