Notification bar height ?

Hi,

Is the notification bar height fixed on all devices?

Or is there any way of calculating it?

The notification bar height is 25dip in most devices. However not in all of them.

You can compare the Activity height to the value returned from GetDeviceLayoutValues.Height

That's helpful for the notification bar but newer phones have a navigation bar too - the HTC One S is meant to have a screen resolution of 540x960 but the device layout gives a height of 888 - the activity height is 850, giving a notification height of 38, as expected.

How do you detect the navigation bar and thus alter layout/aspect from the "advertised" screen size to the "real" screen size?

There is no need to calculate the size of these bars. 100%x and 100%y return the actual available size.
