Android Question Notification Icon?

hi

i would like to have an icon downloaded and use it as the notification icon.
but it seem like the icon needs to be in Object\res\drawable folder.
and i cannot download an icon to this folder correct?

so how can i let the app download an icon and use it when i show a notification?
i would like to use the native notification and not a custom one.

The standard notification icon must come from a resource.
