Hello,
Completely off topic but in case of you would have a solution because I have made more damages following XDA forums advices.

I have wanted to install a Lollipop ROM on a Lenovo p780 following some published information. I was previously able to root the phone so I have tried to install a custom recovery from MobileUncle MTK tools. But it was in Chinese and probably the wrong recovery because while trying to reboot, I have entered in a loop.

Nice because I had found what should be a solution, the stock files which I have meticulously flashed with SP Flash tool. But those probably weren't the right ones... The device never starts again (nor by pressing the power button, nor by resetting it using the red button under SIM 1)...

But I think nothing is lost because when I plug the USB cable to the PC, it is still detected so, perhaps could I be able to flash it again with other files. Which ones ? I have visited the web site without being able to find them.

Of course, I have other phones and it is not a big problem but, I feel bad to have killed it.

Edit : sorry, I mixed the models. It is a Lenovo p780. I have corrected the title and content

on most Android models you can enter some sort of programming mode by pressing a certain combination of buttons (power, menu & volume up ?)

it will allow you to re-flash your device with some pc software or sometimes by putting some files on an SD card.

Hello Sorex,
That's right, the facrory/ingenieur mode or the recovery mode. But for the moment I am not able even to boot like this.
But I have found that they exist two versions for the stock files. I will try with the original Chinese ones.

Try to find some "OLD" version using ODIN as a reflash tool, no need to enter recovery with it

Hello,
Thanks a lot for the tip. I have not finished (trying many things). While searching, I have found that detailed tutorial on how to unbrick every MTK phones. Perhaps it could help someone

Odin, that was the name. Couldn't remember it. If it doesn't seem to work try a non Win8 system. On some Win8 boxes it didn't connect to the phone here.
