The popularity of tablets make full featured Android Office Suite much more attractive. I have seen and used ever version of microsoft office. It was light years ahead in 1995. But 17 years later it has not changed a great deal other than a lot face-lifting. I am hoping someone has some insight on an new Android Office suite or is using one - other than microsoft of which I have seen where they is suppose to present an Android Office suite in 2013.

Just curious...

Softmaker?

Hi,

One of my clients has been using Softmaker Office on Windows and Windows Mobile for years. It is quick and comprehensive and comes as three components to replace Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

It is now available for Android and he is testing it with a new phone. I have little use for it myself, but need to understand and use it for the client's benefit. So far both TextMaker and PlanMaker look fully functional on both my phone and tablet.

Here's the link to their site as finding the apps on PLAY is really hard. (I thought Google were a search company, lol).

Thanks for the reply. I will certainly give it a try. I have a Cloud App that is win and Android capable. And, have a PlayStore application - but it is a Cloud App and therefore one needs a WebHost - Marketing problem!

The Android side really looks clean - it is extremely fast. The win side is a little slower but has file associations such that one can click on a file and have it run under the Shell Command - so far I have not found a similar command in Android. Tinkering with including Apple but at the moment is not a high enough priority - KINDA looking for a java dude. I can tell you the Android side is extremely fast using PHP - very impressive while the win side uses ODBC that directly connects to MySql - which (to my mind's eye) should be faster, oh well...

Thanks
