Wish "Open with"

I recently installed the latest B4A version.

When I select a b4a project, "Open with" looks like this:



So I don't know what B4A versions are those suggested/proposed.

Can Anywhere Software add the version code to those items?



[BTW, I have a 50% chance of guessing, so I click on the first one and check what version it is ]

Hm...
choosing the first one, the last version installed was open; but I wanted to open the previous one, so I clicked the second item, getting a nice b4a crash.

not have permissions to open your View attachment 68470

it seems it used the exe compiled name and icon. as workaround maybe try to replace the exe icon with a tool.

the windows registry did not have anything to change but how about rename the extension to .b4abeta ?
so you can assign a own app for this extension

Good ideas; anyway, the second "link" causes a b4a crash, so I will open the right exe every time (just for now, when the last b4a beta version will be a no-more-beta version... )

you can clean up the last opened with in registry. just search .b4a some times in regedit.exe
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3271362133-1796675707-313935223-1002\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.b4a

No. Normally you will not have multiple versions of B4A installed. Once the stable version is released you can uninstall the previous version.

i can imagine that people with much projects in business solutions will have b4a 7 and b4a 8 beside.
because migration need time & money & human ressources.

You can keep many versions as you like. Open the project from the IDE.

B4A 8 is backwards compatible with B4A 7: [B4X] Backward Compatibility
There is no reason to use an old version.
In the rare case where something changes in an incompatible way it is because a new version of the OS required it so you need to upgrade any way.
