But it's nice that android finally gets the feature and I hope that B4XPage will then get cross-platform compatibility for landscape
I'm not happy, having yet again to rewrite "frozen" apps with assets and layout thought for a phone in portrait mode, because the app is supposed to be used with a phone in portrait mode.

Not an open foldable.
Not a tablet.
Certainly not a chromebook*.

I'd like to move on with my life instead of having to constantly rewrite half of the apps because android is an evermoving target.
In the menatime they could have been at least nice to us and implement a way to trigger a windows resize event on rotation as it happens on iOS instead of restarting the activity because now you also have rewrite the app to make it "adaptive" so the user retains the current state when the activity is destroyed and recreated

*Developer blog implies they are going to let any app run anywhere in the future.

Apparently, they also write falsehoods.

You create the layout on the left and see it as the right, on that type of device? Sure (?!), AI adds drawings to the image at the top!

And that's just one example of an image. You'll still have to create more variations depending on the size of your device. Not to mention that the width/height ratio will always be a problem unless those "nice" device manufacturers 🤬 come up with a standard for it (just like ALL TVs have this ratio of 16/9).
