Android Question Parsing a date oddity

I have been having problems parsing datetimes taken from a MYSQL database.

I have finally tracked down the problem to the Datetime.dateparse function.

Can anyone spot what is wrong here.

Why does the wrong date format parse the date correctly?

The same code runs as expected on iOS.

DateTime.DateFormat = "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.000000Z"

I think the format should be:

DateTime.DateFormat = "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSS"

SimpleDateFormat (Java Platform SE 7 )

Sorry, Just tried that, it does not work.

I also tried
yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSz
and
yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSzZ

No Joy

Why you need the milliseconds?
I suggest you just use the 2nd parse method. It is correct and sufficient.

I don't need the millliseconds. That is the string I get back from a DATETIME column of a MYSQL database.

I only need the DATE part so I ended up trauncating at the T.

Then just use:

DateTime.DateFormat = "yyyy-MM-dd"
