I am encountering two problems in B4a 2.50 that have recently been occurring.
1. The emulator won't start.
I get no error message. After the small dialog that shows the loading progressbar has finished, the emulator window never appears. I've tried restarting the ADB server, restarting the AVD manager and restarting B4a but none of these have helped.
2. B4a Bridge indicates it is finished, but the device's installer never starts.
If I connect the device in Disk Drive mode and download the file, the installer starts as it should. However, doing this has prevented me from stepping through portions of the software in debug mode.
I've tried restarting the Bridge on both the device and in B4a. I've also tried restarting boththe ADB server and B4a without success.
Oh, THOSE logs! I thought perhaps you were talking about logs specifically related to the AVD manager, the emulator or the SDK (I searched and couldn't find any logs there). As for the logs in the IDE, there were no errors listed either for the emulator or for the Bridge.
For the Bridge, I tried Margaret's suggestion and it is now working. I'd like to use the emulator for layout, but I suppose I could connect to the Designer on the device and use it -- am I correct in my thinking? Thanks Erel.
I use the real devices for testing, but up to now have used the emulator for designing the layout (positioning of objects). What do you mean by "Don't for get the cloud..." Please explain. Thanks.

Thanks. The link shows the Designer and the Tools menu with the Clouds option highlighted, but provides no explanation. So, I'm still in the dark as to how this works. Need more info.

The link you sent me before took me to this URL: http://i.imgur.com/3CcoQWV.jpg and had nothing on it but the screenshot of the designer tools menu as I said.
So, where and when was the link you give in the above qujoted reply "provided" to me before in this thread? I checked out the thread on the UI Cloud that this link takes me to and now understand how it works.
Thanks. I'll have to give it a try (although I do hae a series of devices of various sizes and resolutions that also help in testing).
