iOS Question Publishing app to the App Store

Hi All,
I have to develop an iOS App for my customer. My customer have an "old" App Store account.
Can I use this existing account or I have to create a new account in order to publish the developed App ?

P.S.
I'm asking this because I have no experience with App Store publishing until now.
