Android Question reading comma separated values text file

I need to read CSV from a text file line by line.

A mix of string and number types in each line and every line is same format. File has to be in this format and editable by hand.

this is the file format:

string, integer, double, string, integer
string, integer, double, string, integer
string, integer, double, string, integer
string, integer, double, string, integer
.......

Seems to many options to read text files but can't find a simple one for this.

Thanks everyone it's working good. The problem was CR LF line end in my input file. loadcsv needs only LF.

Notepad++ works excellent for everything, though I also use Excel for creating CSV files, particularly if I have to do a lot of manual editing of it as it is a bit more efficient for navigating around.

+1 for using Excel or similar spreadsheet to create CSV files.

Excell puts CRLF line end which would fail in loadCSV. Unix uses LF and Mac CR. Windows MS-DOS convention is CRLF.
Non of them work with loadCSV which needs LF as for what I tested so far.

In notepad++, Edit -> EOL Conversion -> you can choose win/unix/mac format.

I know that's how I do it now. It's weird that there are so many standards. Would be nice if LoadCSV can handle all.

StringUtils.LoadCSV works with both types of end of lines characters, however all the lines must use the same ending.

It didn't work when both CRLF are used which is the windows standard. I will do some more tests.
