Android Question Receiver Modules: What is the lowest SDK/Android version? (or did receivers "always exist"?)

I understood that this topic is important for Android 12+. But what about older versions/SDK's? Is there a "lowest version" receivers can be used with (like Android 7)? I assume static broadcast receivers aren't completely new. Sorry if I missed this part.

Receivers are introduced in Api 1. In the past they were used together with Services.
