Android Question Rich Text Box

How do you create a text box like the following variations:

A plain text box would be usable, but I would prefer a native Rich Text Box, like the one on the right.

Any suggestions?

Is there a multi-line plain text textbox? Something like the one on WhatsApp which is multi-line and allows a carriage return line feed.

Yes. Add an EditText with the designer and set its Multiline property to true.
