Route distance calc

I am pottering around with GPS and maps and one thing I would like to be able to do is query google maps with start and finish locations and get the route distance.

You can use this link:

http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/distancematrix/xml?origins=<START_LOCATION>&destinations=<END_LOCATION>&mode=driving&language=us-EN&sensor=false&units=imperial

You can change the MODE, LANGUAGE and UNITS as needed, the above link will return the results in XML format
