I find that video barely watchable. The editing is just awful. RustDesk seems nice though.

I think the video is quite lengthy. Understandably it is sponsored video and that's how youtuber make it so that more viewing hours.

I use it (self-hosted option) with a customer. It works really well!
We only need remote support sessions from time to time and Teamviewer was not an option anymore unless you purchased a too expensive (IMO) license.
In this case I'm just a final user, so I don't know how easy is to set-up the self-hosted option. Also don't know which are the free plan limitations, but it's definitely worth a try
:)

I started using about a month ago to tutor someone because TeamViewer free keeps dropping around 30 to 40 minutes of usage. Anydesk wasn't so great for my liking.

The experience is smooth, connection perfect, Chat and Audio was also great.

You can also connect to a mobile

I use it. And also setup a Rustdesk Server on my VPS so I'm not dependent on someone else's server that I have no control of. Works great! And very easy to setup.

I am wondering does it lag on old machine with slow CPU and less RAM.

Nope ... I run it (the clients) on some old laptops with 8GB RAM running Windows 10 and can't tell the difference between it and TeamViewer. The VPS hosting the relay server is also a minimal VPS running a bunch of other stuff besides this. I'm quite impressed!

I use it at work and at home. No issues.
Best thing is that its really easy to open a new screen at the remote computer. So, if the remote computer has a screenresolution at 800x600, you can press one button and have two screens, one at 800x600 and one that is 1900x2048, and use them as if they are physical screens at the remote. Perfect in work-situations where you sometimes need a bigger screen for your work.

To a mobile?
Can you also connect from PC to mobile if it has the screen lock active?
And therefore completely without remote user intervention?
