Samplers anyone? (Akai S2000, S5000)

I've bought this (Akai S5000) on on Ebay for less than 200€:


The User interface is brilliant (like an ATM machine with buttons next to the screen). The sound unbelievable.


and two of those (S2000):



With some Samples on CD, hd's (all SCSI) still having fun

I play my Akai EWI4000s in a jazz band. Just using an old Korg 05RW at the moment but would love something with more realistic traditional instrument sounds.

by the way when it came out it was still pre-internet (even the re-release in '88 ir 89) so no access to lyrics sites like we have now.

and I thought they were singing "everything counts a lot in pounds"

Same here (with a bunch of songs). Even worse: I wasn't aware of a lot of lyrics of songs I listened to. Like "I don't like mondays". I thought it was about hating mondays when the weekend is over. Later on I mentioned it was about a shooting and the assassin answered the question why she did it with "I don't like Mondays".

He isnt really playing that instrument. Too much movement at the mouthpiece/reed. I don`t think they`re actually singing either lol

I forgot... For a short time I had this one. Got it cheap and sold it for a lot of bucks:
