Android Question SDK Manager

Sorry but I am bit lost.
I use both B4A and Android Studio for developing stuff for Android. Currently both B4A and Android Studio is pointing to the same Android-SDK folder on my computer (in c:/...).
If I have understood things correctly, in order to be able to use SDK-manager within B4A, I must install another set of Android-sdk in another folder and have B4A point to this one. Thus, it seems that I need to have two SDKs installed on my PC which I would prefer not to since it is using up precious space.
Is my understanding correct?

If yes, why can't the B4A SKD-manager work correctly as it used to in the past? What change did Google do to the SDK so it broke the compatibility with B4A's SDK manager? Is it because the SDK-manager is now integrated within Android Studio?
