I usually create a socket, while at the same time I have a server listening at my PC (sometimes using a simple winsock vb object, other times Apache. This involves using a network of course.

You can also use SMB library. This is the standard way to access network drives in Windows.

If I install my app in another smartphone should I install andsmb to work?
is shared also the printer, how can I send the file to the printer?

No.

The SMB library doesn't support printing.

maybe the best solution is to use DownloadFile in smb?

You should use SMB.DownloadFile to copy the file from the pc to the device.
