How about another module type that is a just a subset of an activity module, it would help seperate code without the limitations of a code module. It could just be a function of the ide to detect code markers in the main module and display the marked code as a seperate module, perhaps using a row of stars with a label to indicate that the contained code can be displayed as a seperate module. A menu item/button could be used to switch between normal or this modified view.
