Android Question Service.StartForeground, stopped?

Hi, I have a Service with a timer that check every 5 minutes a TCP connection.

I started this service with StartForeground, and all works good,.. the problem is in some phones.. like newest.. the service in some moment (after some hours) is stopped..

In other devices the same build is working perfectly.

Some idea?

Ask the users if they can exclude the app from the battery optimization (on some phones it's called "protected apps" if I recall correctly). There is on the forum some code to check that too https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/ignore-battery-optimizations.68825/#post-436616

Got another idea : why not restarting the collection service at interval using StartServiceAtExact ? It has an option to allow starting while the device is sleeping...

The StartServiceAtExact.. is not working in the most recent models..

Though it will not work if you try to start your app every 5 minutes. Your app will be blocked. Maybe every 30 minutes will work.

I'm not sure what you are doing but consider using push notifications instead.
