Android Question Should I prefer Oracle Java 8 or OpenJDK 11 for B4A development?

I'm considering re-installing my development machine from scratch, and took a look at the installation instructions for B4A. I saw that I can choose from two different Java versions: Oracle Java 8 or OpenJDK 11.

I just wondered if there are any benefits to pick one over the other?

One needs a registration at Oracle, the other not.

I just use the OpenJDK 11 now.

So apart from the registration I should consider them identical in functionality and speed[1]?

[1] (For our practical purposes of making apps, not for sending a spacecraft to the other side of the universe or squeezing an extra cycle out of the hardware to process hash tables etc.)

i can not see a difference in using java 8 or 11 when developing. I did not do a benchmark though...

I imagine that it might be less about 8 vs 11 and more about Open vs Oracle. But I don't know, this isn't one of my expert areas.

That's good enough for me. I mean, the only reason one would bother is if the current solution felt slow, and as it doesn't - why bother.
