Android Question Show keyboard when I connect barcode reader

Hello friends:
If I connect the barcode scanner to a device (Android 4.4), I can not use the keyboard on the screen. This virtual keyboard is not displayed if I touch any "EditText".
Is it possible to allow this virtual keyboard?

Hi, thanks for your help.
The problem I have is not the scanner, but by connecting the scanner to the usb port, then the on-screen keyboard is no longer displayed when you click on an edittext to write.

I'm familiar with this issue. I don't think that you can force the keyboard to appear in this case.

I forgot to comment that you can use the on-screen keyboard in conjunction with the barcode reader.
You have to configure it in Settings -> Language and text entry -> Physical keyboard = NO

I wanted to do it programmatically, so I do not have to manually change it in each of the devices.

Anyway, that's how it works, it's the momentary solution.
