Android Question Silent call to web page

I'm sure this has been posted on here before and answered, but I can't seem to find it...

Let's just say I've got an App, which a User enters two pieces of information into and presses a button.

I want the two pieces of information to be placed in two fields on a webpage and the button on the webpage silently called and then the response will be parsed and displayed in the App.

Just to be clear this isn't a Userid or Password being sent and is only sending information to a free web page, but I am just trying to put a wrapper around it. I've tried looking for a web service but I can't seem to determine one and thought that the easy option may well be to just populate the two fields on the page and then 'press' the button..

Cheers

Usually httputils is the right library for doing that, eps.

Hi both, thanks for the replies, I've already tried looking at the website and the source, but couldn't quite figure it out...

Link is : https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk

The main issue as far as I can see is that it's an unpublished data feed - there are lots of published Government ones in the UK, but this one isn't (yet?)...

It looks like there's a hell of a lot of gratuitous javascript in there that pretty much generates the form for you, with the auto complete options and so on, so it's hard to work out what the actual field names will even be.

However, a bit of digging around turned up this, which might be a start:

https://github.com/alphagov/govuk-a...uk/api/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla.json

(Actually, perhaps not; the json seems mostly to point to the same place, rather than have really useful info, but it could be worth digging some more round there)
