Android Question SMB Versions

I use SMB to back up and further analyze my app's databases. I have found a working way for each of the different systems:
1) SMB (Erel) for old NAS and Windows7
2) SMB2 (DonManfred) for Windows7 and Windows10
Now I'm wondering if I really need to use both libraries and how I can automatically switch between them.
