Is there any way to have applications icon (always show)
in notification bar even if application is in background?

Like B4A-Bridge do when running.
Show a small A icon on the notification bar.

Is there also a way to have different icon than the application have?

Yes and yes.

You need to add a service and call Service.StartForeground.

Example: Background location tracking
