Android Question Start an app from within an other app

Hello,
i'm working on an system where there are a number of independent function blocks. I think it makes sense to split it in different seperate apps.
Not every user will have every Module available.
Is it possible to start/call this modules-apps from one central menu-app ?
If yes, how would i do so?

Use the packagemanager to check if one of the modules are installed (you know the packagenames of them as you are the author)
The packgamanager can return a startingintent which you can use to start the app.
