Android Question Swipe to delete

Sigh, you can't always get what you want....

DonManfred's Swipe to dismiss library works beautifully, Except it doesn't tell you if the swipe is left or right.

XverhelstX's RSSSwipAnddismiss does give you left or right, unfortunately it seems to completely trap the touch events so the keyboard doesn't open on a straight touch (using with edittext)

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
