I’m a retired volunteer with my son, a 5th grade teacher, and we have been buying old recycled laptops for 7 years and giving them to schools. We have a team of very nice programmers around the world that are helping with this educational software (Excel with extensive VBA) that we place on these laptops. Other teachers have seen my son’s class and wanted what he has. So now, there are over 150 laptops in 12 classrooms, from kindergarten to 8th grade. Here is one of several articles about what we are doing - Temecula classroom run completely on father and son technology Our software, and my son’s teaching ability, has enabled him to have the highest math averages on district wide tests (93% class average) in his district.
We have a full, complete and bug-free working program that uses excel’s VBA to make it totally non-Excel looking. Each classroom has their own NAS and LAN as well as the laptops can go from being on the network to standalone and back again. Now, we have designed the same concept, and complete screens with HTML5 to fit on 7 and 10 inch tablets.
Would anyone like to join this team to build the program behind these screens? If you have children, one advantage of you doing this is: They will really jump ahead of others in their class by using this software, especially using the same program, quizzes and videos as they advance from K to 8 (we have up to college tutorials because some 5th grade students are doing college level math.) The programs are self directed so the students can go as far and as fast as they want and have to master one level before automatically advancing to the next level in each subject.
Since all the code is in VBA, and it is bug free, you will have a starting point. It is extensive so this is not a one month project. Members of my team have been together for 4 plus years and are willing to help you with any questions.
Thanks
scott
PS I have included a sample tablet screen display - all the other 14 have been finished.
