You can also upload your application to the Appstore and use the Test flight feature, there are two ways to have folks test it, one way requires apple to approve it for public testing the other doesn't.
If you invite users to be part of your team through Itunes Connect and give them technical roles then they can test in Test flight as soon as you upload your application, I do this with a few of my testers, although it means you have to give these people (limited) access to your Itunes account, it also means that they can test with out apple approving the app.
the second way, which takes a little longer (sometimes a couple of days) is that you upload your application like normal to the store, and then Invite external users to test your application - again they get access to your application via test flight, but Apple have to approve the app, this approval process seems to be a very quick one, sometimes a few hours, sometimes a few days, but it means that you dont have to give anyone access to your itunes connect page.
I use both methods, A few (trusted) people are internal testers so they get access with out Apple having to approve my app, and I have about 14 external testers. In both cases they only get 30 days max to play with the application before it expires and they can no longer use it.
