Hi,
I think everybody got the email from google.
The question is how to integrate it in b4x Android apps ? For Texas the time seems to be short: 1.1.2026

I didn't get the email. What's all the fuss about? Not a registered Google developer, that's why. But sure am interested.
Please post the email content or a link to the Google statement.
Thanx

@Erel, this must affect your customers. Do you have any comment about this and what do you suggest for those developers (your customers) wanting to place their apps on the Play Store? How will it affect everyone?
Regards,
Mark Stuart

What happens if no changes are made? Will the app no longer be available for download in these states?
If so, I don't mind.

The way I read this.......

The Play Store is becoming legally responsible for age verification when supplying apps with age-sensitive content (what has changed?). If your apps don't contain age-sensitive content this surely does not apply to you?

You already make an age-suitable declaration when you submit an app for review. If Google disagrees with the age level of your declaration they are quite at liberty to change it. Who they sell it to thereafter is entirely up to them. I am struggling to see the logic behind this.....

Play Age Signals API (Beta): Supporting the implementation of new age verification laws in the US

Service update

spacer-11.gif
You are receiving this email because you have at least one app on Google Play that is available or used by users in the United States.
spacer-11.gif
What's up?
spacer-11.gif
Age verification laws have recently been passed in some US states, currently Texas, Utah, and Louisiana, requiring app stores to verify users' ages, obtain parental consent, and share users' age information with developers. These laws also create new obligations for developers distributing their apps through app stores in those states.
spacer-11.gif
Our plan to support you
spacer-11.gif
While we have concerns about user privacy and trust with these new confirmation laws, at Google Play we're already building APIs, systems, and tools to help you meet your obligations.
spacer-11.gif
The first law to take effect is Texas SB 2420 on January 1, 2026. Since the implementation deadline is short, we would like to introduce you to the Play Age Signals API (Beta) and provide you with the API integration guide .

What this means for you
spacer-11.gif
These laws present new challenges for many apps, as they may be required to provide age-appropriate content to users in these states. These requirements include collecting user age groups and parental consent status for major changes from app stores, as well as notifying app stores of major changes. Therefore, it's important to familiarize yourself with these laws and understand your obligations.
