This program is an unknown publisher..

Hi all,

I am trying to do an auto rebooting system without any user interface. However, I noticed that everytime I power up, the system will automatic prompt me with a very annoying warning saying "this program is an unknown publisher... blar blar"..

Anyone has any idea how to get rid of that? I read that I need to sign the program with a 'trusted' publisher. However, I have no idea how to add this in B4PPC. Is there anyway, I can disable this annoying warning too..

Thanks.

Best regards.

Here is one article about it: Code Signing for Developers

Thank Erel for your great information.

I read through the article, I have a bit of confusing regarding the two type of the code signing.

I noticed that if the product is going to be delivered outside, we need to use the microsoft code sign, in which we need to pay for the processing. As for the developer, we have another type of code signing for developer which is a bit tedious unless we opt to buy.

I was wondering, when the product is in the development state, we will have a development code sign and when we are going to ship out the product, we will need to have a commercial code sign. Do we need two code sign or either one will be sufficient?

Cheers.

I'm sorry I do not know the answer...

Hi Erel,

While I was looking at my library, I noticed that you have a Certificatepolicy.dll.

I was wondering whether this will be able to solve the problem of unknown publisher.

Thanks.

Unknown publisher...

This is a pagetext I found after some Googling:

Yes, there's a registry hack for this. With a registry editor, go to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a and change the value to "1". This will disable warnings. If you don't want to make the edit yourself, I believe Tweaks2k2 has this feature as well.

I used it myself and it works fine!
