iOS Question Timer in background

Hi
I need to check URL each 1 minute (check new product in server and receive it)
But when app go to background,timer not working.

If user close the app,not important but when app go to background,I need to check it

Hi,

I keep seeing that timers are not working in the background which is true in release mode but not true in debug mode. Do you know why it works in debug mode?
Just for my personnal information.
