iOS Question timer request and the user request

Hello I want to create app with notification every 10 second to check the state of data

So I create timer to request check in server through Rdc but when i try to get data while the timer is runs the request not working even I Disable the timer How I can make this happen in the same time

i mean timer request every 10 second and the user request in the same time
