Haiku is an interesting OS that in my watch list.
It is based on BeOS and not Linux.
I learned that it is releasing a new beta recently.
I tested the 64bit iso in Virtual Box.
By the way, Oracle just revamped the Virtual Box website and having a new fresh design for Virtual Box.
However, I still prefer the old design.
First attempt to install the OS failed. Second attempt the OS installed successfully but very slow. Then I reinstalled it again by setting the video RAM to max (128MB). This time it runs smoothly.
I have tried install JDK14 from Haiku Depot and downloaded B4J-Bridge.
B4J IDE connected successfully to the terminal and the guest IP is successfully set using bridge network.
I tried compile some UI and non-UI app but all failed due to missing modules especially JavaFX.
I hope there will be a working JDK and JavaFX packages available in the future so I can run my B4J apps inside this OS.
I will revisit this OS in the future. ??
Haiku is an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by BeOS, Haiku is fast and easy to learn but very powerful.
