The idea behind this little programme is simple: a colleague at work asked me if I could help.
He has the problem of being a volunteer firefighter and therefore not being able to work for his employer due to a call-out. How do you quickly inform your employer about a call-out in this case?
This is exactly what UBI VADO was written for. In principle, freely selectable email addresses and a predefined text are stored in UBI VADO. After calling up the programme and a single click, a ready-made email is sent to all the email addresses stored and the programme closes. This takes less than a second and can be done in a flash on the way to an emergency.
The application can also be used by volunteers from the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) or other non-profit organisations whose volunteers have regular employment elsewhere. This means that their employer is informed and can plan the replacement of the employee in good time.
The programme is designed for use in Germany, but can in principle also be used in other countries.
Technically, an SMTP request is generated to your own mail server using the predefined information. If the mail server responds positively, UBI VADO terminates itself. Done. OAuth2 identification is not implemented. OAuth2 is implemented far too differently to establish a correct procedure in the programme for every case. Most web mail servers and many Internet providers support the pure SMTP protocol used by UBI VADO.
The programm is free of charge. If you find it useful, you can donate if you like it.
If you are interested in using UBI VADO, contact me.
