We are a medium sized metering enterprise with an in house built .NET system for managing our day to day activities. We've hit a size now where our ASPX portal for our field engineers just isnt fit for purpose and we need to move to an offline app which allows information to be stored until mobile signal is regained. We did start this project previously ourselves and decided to go down the B4A route for familiarity but B4A was new to our in house dev team and with the vast growth we've seen we physically havent got the time for it, hopefully what we did will be a good beginning basis for anyone interested in the role. This will be a permanent ongoing role within our business, salary to be discussed and based on experience. The ideal person will have a proven track history of working as a developer in a commercial environment and will be based in the UK to occasionally travel into our office in the midlands. Aside of that we are happy for a driven and commited individual to be fully based from home.

The engineers tablets store the details of the jobs their working on, and report data for that job, when finished (or every week) they get sign-off with signature for the services performed that week (there is PDF preview of the reports), and when they have a WiFi or mobile signal, the report data is synced to the server (aspx-based) and finalised signed reports are emailed to the customer.

As I run my own uk-based vat-registered limited company, I am not looking for a job I’m afraid, but I am happy to work on contract if you like, and would be happy to discuss further if you are interested.

p.s. I also wrote a B4X app for iPhone and Android phone which the engineers use to view their scheduled appointments for the week.
