Understanding libraries help

I have decided to try to understand and use the new technology being made available via the Android platform. The use of B4A seemed like my most likely route to success. Not easy for a newbie and I suspect from reading a lot of the forum that there are not too many pensioners here.
My current confusion concerns an additional library I wanted to use called Recorder to capture a sample of noise from the microphone. Its zip contains 2 DLLs yet the other two I have downloaded to use with no problems ( FFT and RandomAccess) have a jar and xml and they appear in the LIBS tab.
Can anyone tell me what do I do with these DLLs to get access to that library?

First: you are posting in the B4PPC Forum, but you seem to have questions about Android.
What exactly do you want to do ?
Before speeking about any library you should tell exactly what you want to do and only then ask if you need any library and what library if necessary.

Thanks Klaus - should have spotted that. Please excuse ignorance, all this stuff is new to me , but are you saying Basic4PPC is part of the Android Developement Forum but nothing to do with Android? Or is this a Basic Develpment Forum with two seperate sections being B4A and B4W - indows and the two have little in common?
I will try and find right place to ask questions. Again thanks.

Basic4PPC is a basic language dedicated for devices with the Windows Mobile operating system (up to version 6.5) and you can also write programs for desktop computers running Windows operating system.
Basic4PPC cannot be used for Windows Phone 7 !

Basic4Android is a Basic language dedicated for devices with the Android operating system.

In the Forum there are 2 sections, one for each language.

Both languages are similar from the pure language point of view but quite different because of the two different operating systems.

Libraries contain additional functionalities to enhance the language possibilities with more sophistcated or more specialized functionalities.
You use those only if needed.

For Basic4Android have a look at the Beginner's Guide and also on the Basic4Android Wiki.

Best regards.
