Android Question USB - read folders and files

Good morning,
I want to read all folders and files in a USB storage connected to my Nexus7.
Unfortunately I cannot find an example for that.
Have you any example about this?

The storage device should be mapped to a standard folder. Use a file manager to find it.

There isn't any API to automatically find the path.

Do you know a good file manager for that task?

I download TotalCommander but no one usb are mapped or found. (i not want use app like nexus media importer)

I´m using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Android 4.4.2
For me it works with Total Commander.
