Web Based apps

General Info:

I have been asked about - web based applications. My client is tired of all the Window upgrades and is looking at web based apps for his programs.

I was wondering if anyoune could give me a lead as to where to look for pursuing developing such software?

PHP and MySQL are the easiest to learn and find hosts for. Since OpenSource/Free they are easier to come by and often complete packages for Linux and such exist (LAMP Servers) to create a fully functional web server on a spare desktop or laptop to test on too. You will need a good base of HTML and CSS to really create something comparable to what they are used to seeing in desktop apps as well.
