When we search could we have the results sorted into date descending order?
It would mean we would be reading the latest solutions first...

This idea sounds good but the result will be very bad. There are many (15+) factors that are used to determine the score of each search result. The date is an important factor. Sorting by date means that all other factors are ignored.

You can filter results based on date if you like:

Why the order date should deactive the filters? Is it how this forum works?

With normal db queries you can do it, as you know (Where... and... Order by...)

I was not talking about filters. The search engine sorts items based on their score. The score is made of many factors and the reason that overall this site search engine is better than the search in almost all other forums is that it is not sorted by date (and that it is based on a search index and not SQL db). Once you sort by date all other factors are ignored.
