Just out of curiosity I thought I would run a deep virus scan on my desktop PC, as my ISP reported something on my lan had a virus.

I started it 27 hours ago, and up till now It has scanned 38M files, with an estimated 6 hours to go.

... still waiting lol.

you can skip the scan. if i were a virus i would not go to your pc. to many files to infect. (>38 million files )

You didn't think you had been That busy did you - when ever I do this i wonder Where the HECK did all those files come from [and, how do "they" fit them all onto this storage device????] What are they all for: much more interesting questions than: what viruses are there supposed to be in here..........

there's a Gyles Brandreth story here somewhere.........

It finished a while ago but still took around 35 hours to complete. Scanned 45M files. Found 2 trojans 2 malware and 3 not recommended files.

The files are mainly programming source files.

And yes the AV confirmed the one my ISP told me about then nuked it lol.

@rabbitBUSH the pc has 3.5TB of storage so quite easy to hold that many files.

(nas *2 + pc's + xbox = 28TB storage between them.)
