Hi my name is krenisis windows mobile developer. I have some questions Iam currently using another compiler to make my games but my compiler will not be windows phone7 compatible.I need to knoiw 2 things about this product
1) Are the games and apps made with basic4ppc able to pass submition to Windows mobile marketplace?
2) Will this compiler be windows phone7 compatible?
Thank you for your time.
1) Basic4ppc uses the same compiler that Visual Studio uses, so yes applications created with Basic4ppc can be submitted to the market place.
2) The current version is not compatible with windows phone 7. We do plan to add support for WP7 in the future but it will not be in the near future and it is not final yet.
The next major step for us is to develop an Android version of Basic4ppc.
I listened that WP7 doesn't use the same file extension (.xap), it's based on SilverLight... I programmed for WP7 and it's in XAML for create any control on Form...
On WP7 there're 20x more possibility, by example the gradient color is directly included on the environement, there's also the opacity function for every control type... It'll be hard to implent all these new functions...
I don't think that is just a rumor cause on VS 2010 WP7 Edition when we compile it's in output ".xap" and not ".exe" and on the WP7 emulator it run only .xap... And if it's based on SilverLight so it's normal that the file extension change, .exe file doesn't use SilverLight...
We'll see in few months We've to be patient...
