Win10 stuck upgrade, what to do?

I'm on WIN10 for about a month or so. Everything is fine, except my hotkey for the brightness was gone (sound still there). Taking a look at the logs showed some programs having trouble (I did not mention this because there were no crashes).

Solution: remove the graphics drivers (via windows) -> restart -> graphics card shows up with "trouble with drivers" -> search for newer drivers -> WIN10 says "already installed" -> everything is fine -> even the hotkeys are working now -> no new entries in the logs -> still don't know what was the reason.

I'm still having problems upgrading my notebook to Win10.

Seems that Microsoft has problems with certain broadcom wifi cards (i'm the lucky one to have such a card ).
They've known about this problem since the RC versions but for some reason they're not working on it at all. So there's only one solution for me: open my notebook, remove the wifi en replace it with another one.

Now i only need to find the time to do this, not easy with a 6 month old son asking for attention .

pick manufacturer drivers as much as possible (the Win7/8 one should work).

the MS ones usually don't support everything altho they work for most common things.

Got the latest drivers from Broadcom but still no luck .
Gonna dig up the good old screwdriver .

or insert a wifi dongle in the usb port, there are these very tiny ones that barely stick out of your USB port.

Did that already, but the problem is that the Win10 installer tries to install drives for all the hardware present.
So i have to unplug my internal wifi to be able to install win10, after that i can easily plug it back in and load the drivers of my choice.

oh, you can/could disable it in the BIOS aswell.

Nope, option is not available in the BIOS.
However I didn't check if there's a newer BIOS available, perhaps a flash could help.
