As Erel said, Win RT (using ARM cpu's) requires specific apps (mainly HTML5, javascript and CSS). B4A is a 'classic' winforms app and will only work on a full Windows 8 version.

Win 8

I installed Basic4Android on my new Windows 8 Laptop and it ran with no problems - also installed the YouWave emulator that I use for a lot of my testing with no problems.

Just curious about what Windows 8 users think of it - personally I find it a real pain and ended up installing one of the Start Menu addons that are available. Maybe the interface is OK with a touch screen but it is a nuisance with a mouse or touchpad and the more applications installed, the worse it gets. One comment I ran into online called it an updated version of the Windows 3.1 Program Manager.

Works fine here on a ACER Core I5 Win-8 laptop with touch screen. I also loaded a '3rd party' start bar.

The touch screen is GREAT for testing your Android apps in the emulator but really stinks from a programming point of view and I never use it.
