Did anyone got this message, GMail ?

b4x1b.png

I still remember when GMail started with 2 GB offer. There usp was auto Spam filter and showing relevant ads.
Relevant to the content of the email text opened.

MS even mocked it with an ad in TV showing postman reading all your mails before delivering to you.

Now GMail says the opposite !

I think it's been quite a while since they read your emails, I heard about that years ago.

The good news is obviously that they don't read your emails. The bad news is that they probably don't need to - they know so much about you already that it's dead simple to sell ads targeting you.

It's a way for them to make sure all users understand Google respect the users' email privacy. It's pretty much a no-brainer for Google: It's extremely cheap way of hammering the message, and they are making sure that no competitors have an angle on getting users from Gmail on grounds of privacy.

"You should use us instead, we would never disrespect your privacy by reading your emails!" - well, nobody can use that argument, because Google doesn't either.
