If I sale my project which has Elevate UI in it, I should sell just my code and not the source of Elevate library, right ?
User need to buy the Elevate library separately, as I understand.

My Mini Todo Widget source has some Saif Sameer B4XUIKit source codes, which is in my project as code itself. Since I am selling the full source of my project so the code is also included in it.

Thus I, and may be other members too, need to clarify in this case.

Yes, you are correct in both cases.

  1. Elevate UI Library: If your project uses the Elevate UI library, you cannot sell the source code of that library, as these libraries are typically proprietary and licensed. You should only sell your own code (the code you have developed), and users who purchase your project will need to buy the Elevate UI library separately, as you mentioned. In short, your code does not include the source of Elevate UI, but depends on it.
  2. Saif Sameer B4XUIKit: Regarding B4XUIKit by Saif Sameer, if this code is included in your project and used as part of your application, it’s important to review the terms of use for that library or code. If the B4XUIKit code has a license that allows its distribution within commercial projects, you can sell your project with that code. However, if there are restrictions on distributing the code, you should verify with the author or in the license to ensure you can do so legally. If you don’t have explicit permission to distribute the B4XUIKit code, you would need to ask users to acquire it separately, or remove that part of the code from your project before selling it.
In summary:

  • Do not include the source code of third-party libraries like Elevate UI if you do not have the right to distribute it.
  • Check the terms of use or the license of B4XUIKit to ensure you can sell your code that includes it, or instruct buyers on how to acquire those libraries if needed.
It is always recommended to review the licenses of the libraries or frameworks you use and follow the corresponding policies to avoid legal issues in the future.

Based on what you mentioned, if the owner of B4XUIKit has provided the following with the purchase of the library:

  1. Future design updates (lifetime free updates).
  2. Source code of the B4A library.
  3. JAR + XML files.
This means that the source code of B4XUIKit is included with the purchase, giving you the freedom to edit it and integrate it into your project. If that’s the case, you can include the B4XUIKit source code in your project and sell it without issues, as long as you comply with the terms of use for the library.

It’s important to note that if it’s a collection of example source code (and not just a runtime library), then you should be able to use and modify that code in your project as long as it doesn't violate any restrictions in the license that accompanies the code. Therefore, you can include this source code in your project and sell it, as you have access to the code and the freedom to modify it.

However, it’s always a good idea to review the specific terms of the license and, if in doubt, contact the author to ensure there are no additional restrictions on distributing that code, especially in commercial projects.

In summary, if you have access to the source code and the license allows it, you can include it in your project and sell it without issues.
