Android Question Actionbar benefits

Is there a benifit for me to use an actionbar library if all i want is a title and the 3 dots button to bring up a popup menu?

I think its simpler and i would have more control if i just use a label and a popup library.

Only use it if you need any of its feature. In both cases you will see the same native action bar.
